Canonical Visitation of the New Brunswick Oratory

On Saturday, January 17, the New Brunswick Oratory welcomed the Very Rev. Felix Selden, C.O., Provost of the Vienna Oratory, and the Very Rev. Ignatius Harrison, C.O., Provost of the London Oratory, for a canonical visitation. At the 2006 General Congress in Rome, Father Selden was elected Delegate of the Apostolic See for the Confederation of the Oratory, a position that includes the responsibility to visit each Congregation every five years on behalf of the Holy Father. Father Harrison accompanied Father Selden as his secretary. During the four day visit, Fathers Selden and Harrison toured St. Peter the Apostle Parish and the Catholic Center at Rutgers, met with members of the Secular Oratory, and interviewed each member of the Congregation before formally presenting their recommendations. Upon leaving New Brunswick, Fathers Selden and Harrison traveled to South America, where they were scheduled to conduct several more visitations.
